About Local 4279

Schererville Firefighters Union Local 4279 was established in 2003 to represent the professional firefighters of Schererville, Indiana. Our union fights for safer working conditions, fair compensation, and strong community engagement. Since its original chartering with eight members, Local 4279 has grown to be twenty-one active members and two retired members strong.

To advocate for the health, safety, and welfare of our members while promoting excellence in fire and emergency services.
